About the project.

The globally renowned University of the Arts London is ranked 2nd in the world for Art and Design and attracts students from around the World. As a collegiate university spanning 13 sites with over 19,000 students, the University requires a highly available, cloud hosted Unit4 system tailored to its students.

Since 2013, the University has been using Unit4 Business World for Finance, effectively managing data, streamlining business processes and introducing interfaces for increased capabilities. The University was an early adopter of cloud hosting, so reassurance and reliability in outsourced hosting was needed. Although the University have their own in-house data centre, internal teams wanted mission critical functions outside of a single point of failure, as availability and uptime are hugely significant to Higher Education institutions.

The University’s previous hosting provider hosted outside of the UK and with the political climate changing the University wanted to ensure UK, GDPR compliant hosting. Following a recommendation, QuickThink Cloud took over technical managed support and cloud hosting for the University in early 2020.
