About the project
Currie & Brown is an asset management and construction consultancy driven by innovation. They are global in their reach and office network, but also local in their delivery and relationships. Over the years they have grown their services, expertise and capabilities to meet the needs of their clients while also providing added value at every opportunity.
Currie & Brown wanted a fully managed (fully independent) Unit4 Cloud solution that would be accessible to their extensive userbase around the globe. This included Advanced DR to ensure that their business remained online 24/7 with aggressive RTO and RPO objectives. This required a complex, phased global rollout of the solution and extensive integrations / connectivity options to ensure that all aspects of the system were connected, seamless and delivered flawlessly to user populations based in offices spanning multiple continents.
MPLS Connectivity
With offices in North America, the Far East, Oceania and EMEA regions, it was clear that MPLS links would assist with the smooth and consistent delivery of both desktop and web-based applications. Through QuickThink Cloud's extensive network of datacentres and POPs, this MPLS network was deployed to ensure the quality of application delivery was maximised.
Essential 24/7 Support
With such a global operation comes the need to ensure that it is 'always available'. Advanced Disaster Recovery 'A Must'
QuickThink Cloud operates several DR models, with Currie & Brown opting to utilise the Advanced DR solution as part of their global system deployment model. This ensures that all their data is continuously replicated over to a secondary datacentre that is geographically separated from the primary, with immediate failover options in the case of disaster. This further cements Currie & Brown's commitment to its users to provide systems with true 24/7 availability.
Systems Evolution
Following Currie & Brown's acquisition of Sweett Group, significant further integrations were required. Fortunately, Sweett Group had already previously benefitted from also hosting their UBW and training systems on QuickThink Cloud's extensive cloud platform, which facilitated a smooth and speedy transition and integration of the two systems. Skilled Currie & Brown staff worked tirelessly to prepare the data for the integrations, with QuickThink Cloud engineers assisting to fuse the two architectures together to the benefit of all involved.
